Jeep Goes back to the future for 75th Anniversary

When it’s your birthday, you get the birthday presents, right? That’s just how it works. But the Jeep® brand is changing that tradition up a bit as it kicks off a big birthday salute to 75 years of off-road heritage with a full line-up of special-edition models, debuting at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

75 years ago the brand defined a new chapter in automotive history as the first Jeep vehicle rolled off the assembly line in Toledo, Ohio, in 1941. Tough, rugged and ready for any challenge, the Jeep started its iconic role in helping the World War II allied military effort overseas.

When the battle-hardened military workhorse returned home, FCA US historian Brandt Rosenbusch says Jeep’s ‘go anywhere, do anything’ reputation began creating a whole new set of civilian admirers and owners.

So, how do you recapture that kind of heritage for today’s generation of buyers? These special-edition vehicles sport paint schemes like Sarge Green, Recon Green and Jungle Green that leave no doubt about what’s wearing them. Low Gloss Bronze wheels, bronze and orange exterior accents, and 75th Anniversary ‘1941’ logos serve to reinforce the legendary spirit of a brand that the Head of the Brand Mike Manley says not only inspired the ‘go anywhere, do anything’ spirit among consumers, but did it in a unique trend-setting way.

If you’re feeling inspired to venture back-to-the-future with one of these special-edition Jeep models, they will be available in dealer showrooms in the first quarter this year.
