Jeep Wrangler Red Rock to have life beyond a concept

Is it too early to start thinking Spring? Not for Mopar and Jeep. They’re already on it with ‘phase two’ for the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock Concept, unveiled at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show earlier this month in Las Vegas.

Next stop for the new Wrangler concept is the annual FCA US Moab Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, where it will take center stage as a special tribute to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers off-roading club in celebration of 50 years for this iconic Jeep and Mopar rite of spring.

Based on the Wrangler Unlimited Hard Rock edition, Mopar and Jeep push the capability bar even higher on the Wrangler Red Rock Concept with next-generation Dana 44 solid front and rear axles, an awesome power dome vented hood, new premium off-road rock rails, beefy front and rear red tow hooks, a 2-inch lift kit and rugged 35-inch BFG K02 all-terrain tires. Commemorative Red Rock badging on the exterior is continued inside on the Amaretto Brown Katzkin leather seats with silver accented stitching.

If all this has you ‘seeing Red’ and lovin’ it, the Jeep brand has some great news. Fifty special-edition Red Rock models, featuring some of the same content on the Concept version, will be produced in 2016, with pre-orders available early in the year. And select items showcased on the Concept will be available as aftermarket parts from Mopar. Take a closer look at many of those features in the video above.
