JNAP Marks Milestone Tuesday

We’ll be at our Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit Tuesday morning for a special milestone, which we’ll be announcing around 9:30 a.m.

We can’t let you, um, peek under the hood yet. Just be sure to keep tabs with Chrysler Communications on Facebook, via @Chrysler on Twitter or @ChryslerPR on Instagram for images and information.

In the meantime, here are some JNAP tidbits:

Built in 1991, the first Jeep Grand Cherokee came off the line in January 1992 and production continues to this day. It’s also home to the Dodge Durango and previously made the Jeep Commander.
It’s one of two manufacturing plants Chrysler has within the City of Detroit. The other is Conner Avenue Assembly Plant, home of the SRT Viper.
More than 4,400 people (hourly and salaried) work there, with UAW Locals 7, 412 and 889 in the plant.
